Khuzdar [Pakistan]: Two leaders of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) in Balochistan were shot dead in the Zehri area of Khuzdar district on Saturday, as reported by officials from Dawn. The victims, Wadera Ghulam Sarwar and Molvi Amanullah, were returning home in the Tarsani area when unidentified assailants on motorcycles opened fire with automatic weapons, killing them instantly. A security guard accompanying the leaders was also injured in the attack. Local authorities transported the deceased and the injured to a nearby hospital, while the assailants fled the scene. No group has yet claimed responsibility for what Levies officials have described as a targeted killing, and an investigation is underway.
After completing the necessary medico-legal procedures, the bodies of the two leaders were returned to their families. Aslam Ghori, the central spokesperson for JUI-F, condemned the killings and called for the swift apprehension of the attackers, according to Dawn.
On February 28, a suicide bombing at the Darul Uloom Haqqania madarsa in Nowshera district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulted in the deaths of at least six individuals, including Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Sami (JUI-S) leader Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani. The explosion occurred during Friday prayers, devastating the main prayer hall as worshippers gathered. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Inspector General Zulfiqar Hameed confirmed it was a suicide attack, injuring three police officers. The blast happened at 2 PM local time, prompting immediate responses from police and rescue teams. Initially, six fatalities were reported, but later updates from Rescue 1122 indicated that the number of injured had risen to 20. The police chief stated that Haqqani, who leads the seminary, was the intended target of the bombing, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
