Amritsar Rural Police arrest 6 drug smugglers, over 7 kg heroin recovered

Amritsar Rural have arrested 6 smugglers, dealing a major blow to the drug smuggling network, along with a consignment of 07 kg 508 grams of heroin.

As part of the war against drugs campaign, the police of Gharinda police station under Amritsar Rural have arrested 6 smugglers, dealing a major blow to the drug smuggling network, along with a consignment of 07 kg 508 grams of heroin.

Addressing a press conference in this regard, SP Harinder Singh Gill said that Gharinda police station had received confidential information that Dilbagh Singh alias Judge, Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh and Samuel Masih alias Sam are involved in the business of selling heroin together and even now these three are coming to Attari side from Mode Dhanoy side to supply heroin in large quantities.

Taking immediate action, the Chief Officer of Gharinda Police Station informed his police party about this in detail and during the checkpoint on the Hardo Ratan Dhanoa side, Dhussi, Dilbagh Singh alias Judge, Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh and Samuel Masih alias Sam were arrested along with 5 kg heroin, Rs 10,000 drug money, three mobile phones and a Splendor motorcycle.

A case was registered against them and further action was initiated. In another case under the same series, Lopoke Police Station had received confidential information that Joga Singh, Punjab Singh and Sharanjit Kaur were together doing business of importing and selling heroin on a large scale from Pakistan through drones. Now they have ordered a consignment of heroin from Pakistan through drones in the fields behind Gurdwara Baba Palla Shaheed and will take the consignment of heroin on their motorcycle and go to Joga Singh’s house from the road leading to village Bachiwind.

Taking immediate action, the Chief Officer of Lopoke Police Station with the help of his police party arrested Joga Singh, Punjab Singh and Sharanjit Kaur from the road leading from village Gagar Mall to village Bachiwind with 2 kg 508 grams of heroin, Rs 40,500 in drug money and a motorcycle and a case has been registered against them and action has been initiated.
