Chandigarh: In a strategic move to bolster its grassroots presence ahead of upcoming electoral challenges, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab has announced the appointment of five key office bearers as Zone Vice Coordinators for the Nasha Mukt Morcha (NMM) wing.

The decision, formalized through an official notification from the party’s state leadership, underscores AAP’s commitment to expanding its anti-drug initiatives across the state’s major regions: Doaba, Majha, and Malwa.

The appointments were endorsed by State President Aman Arora and State In-Charge Manish Sisodia, with copies circulated to national-level party functionaries, including the National Convenor, National General Secretary (Organization), National Treasurer, and State Co-In-Charge.

This revamp is seen as part of AAP’s broader ‘Mission 2027’ preparations for the Punjab Assembly elections, focusing on youth engagement and community-driven campaigns against substance abuse.

The newly appointed Zone Vice Coordinators, all aligned with the NMM wing, are:

Sr. No. Zone Name Wing Designation
1 Doaba Atin Agnihotri NMM Zone Vice Coordinator
2 Majha Rohit Syal NMM Zone Vice Coordinator
3 Malwa Central Manjit Singh Raikot NMM Zone Vice Coordinator
4 Malwa East Lovdeep Sharma NMM Zone Vice Coordinator
5 Malwa West Gurpreet Singh Cherry NMM Zone Vice Coordinator

These leaders will spearhead localized efforts under the Nasha Mukt Morcha, coordinating awareness drives, rehabilitation programs, and advocacy against drug menace in their respective zones. Party insiders highlight that the selections were based on field performance and dedication to AAP’s core values of transparency and public service.

“This is a pivotal step in fortifying our organizational backbone in Punjab. The NMM wing will play a crucial role in empowering communities and ensuring a drug-free future for our youth,” said Aman Arora, AAP Punjab President, in a statement released alongside the announcement.

AAP Punjab has been actively reorganizing its structure throughout 2025, with similar appointments in social media and anti-drug coordinator roles earlier in the year. The party, which governs Punjab since 2022, continues to emphasize welfare schemes in education, healthcare, and anti-corruption as cornerstones of its governance model.
