Amritsar: Body of a married woman found in hotel, husband missing

The body of a married woman was found in the King’s Road Hotel on Court Road in Amritsar, creating a sensation in the area. The deceased woman has been identified as Prabhjot Kaur, a resident of village Waraich, district Gurdaspur. In this case, the woman’s husband, Mandeep Singh Dhillo,n is being seriously suspected of murder, who is said to be absconding after the incident.

Talking to the media, Lovepreet Singh, the brother of the deceased, said that his sister was married about seven years ago in the village Jethuwal in Amritsar district. During the initial years, everything was fine, but later the husband started doubting his sister’s character, and domestic disputes increased. Both lived in Australia and had come to India for some time. Lovepreet Singh said that his husband forcibly took his sister with him and later murdered her in a hotel in Amritsar.

The deceased’s father, Makhan Singh, said that his daughter was married in a good family and no major dispute came to light for a long time. He said that after coming from Australia, family religious functions were held, but later, a painful incident happened suddenly. The six-seven month seven-month-old child is now deprived of his parents, which is the biggest sorrow for the family.

On this occasion, ACP Lakhwinder Singh Kler informed the media that at around 1:30 pm, information was received from 112 that a woman’s body was lying in a hotel on Court Road. The police immediately reached the spot and started an investigation. Based on the documents, the woman was identified as Prabhjot Kaur. Initial investigation has revealed that there were frequent quarrels between the couple.

The police have registered a case of murder based on the statements of the family members of the deceased, and raids are being conducted to arrest the absconding accused. The police say that strict action will be taken as per the law, and the accused will be arrested soon.
