Amritsar: BSF seizes two packets of heroin smuggled via drone

Amritsar: BSF’s vigilance along the India-Pakistan international border has once again thwarted the plans of drug smugglers. The 117th Battalion of the BSF recovered two packets of heroin weighing approximately 1.497 kilograms near the Shahpur border outpost. According to officials, the heroin was being smuggled into India from Pakistan via drones.

According to reports, smugglers used drone technology to smuggle the heroin across the border, but the vigilant and sharp surveillance of BSF personnel prevented their success. Following the seizure, the BSF launched a massive search operation throughout the area. Soldiers are constantly monitoring suspicious locations and taking immediate action on any suspicious activity.

BSF officials say that such actions not only help prevent drug smuggling but also provide local residents with a sense of security. They explained that the 117th Battalion has made patrolling and drone surveillance in the area more effective. Following the seizure, all outposts in the area have been instructed to maintain extra vigilance.

Soldiers are continuously patrolling the entire area, and drones are monitoring every activity. Officials are also making it clear that no laxity will be tolerated against drug trafficking. This action highlights the joint preparedness of the local administration and security forces in Amritsar.
