Ludhiana: In the Jawand Vihar-Sandhu Nagar area of Ludhiana, a craftsman working at a hosiery factory was murdered by a fellow colleague who struck him with a stool. The police have arrested the accused and have initiated an investigation. The deceased has been identified as Dharmendra, who had been working at the facility for the past 5–6 years.

Factory owner Umi Bhardwaj stated that he received a phone call from the contractor, Rahul, around 2:30 AM. Rahul informed him that an altercation had broken out among the workers residing at the factory, and Dharmendra was lying in a critical condition. The police and an ambulance were immediately notified thereafter.
Dharmendra was rushed to the Civil Hospital for treatment, where doctors pronounced him dead. It is reported that the accused youth was a relative (nephew) of the deceased; it was Dharmendra himself who had brought him to the factory to work about a month prior.
The factory owner revealed that an argument over some issue took place between the two men during the night, following which the accused struck Dharmendra on the head with a stool. Dharmendra is survived by his wife and a 4-year-old daughter, who reside in Lucknow.
Police Reviewing CCTV Footage
The police arrived at the scene and have commenced their investigation. Footage from CCTV cameras installed outside the factory is being scrutinized to determine whether anyone else was accompanying the accused.
According to the factory owner, approximately six people work at the facility during the day, but only these two individuals would stay back at the factory during the night. Currently, the police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
