Ayodhya Ram Mandir: Lord Ram Consecration Ceremony today, Devotees immersed in Religious Fervour

The city of Ayodhya is ready like a bride for the grand ceremony of consecration ceremony to be held in the Ram temple on Monday and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the religious rituals of this much-awaited ceremony.

This temple will be opened to the general public the very next day of this ceremony. The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony will begin at 12.20 pm and is likely to be completed by 1 pm.

The Shubh Muharat (Auspicious Time) is from 12.29 to 12.30.

After the ceremony, the Prime Minister will address a gathering of more than 7,000 people, including saints and eminent personalities, at the venue. According to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshestha Trust, on Sunday, the idol of Ram Lalla was bathed with 114 pitchers filled with ‘medicated’ and sacred water brought from various pilgrimage sites.

A member of the trust said, the idol was kept in ‘Madhyadhivas’ today. ‘Rashthiya Jagran Adhivas’ will start from today. The old idol of Ram Lala is being worshiped in ‘Yagyashala’. The rituals are being performed with flowers brought from many places including Chennai and Pune.’ He said, ‘Today, temple trust member Anil Mishra along with his family, VHP chief RN Singh and others are performing the rituals.

Temple Trust General Secretary Champat Rai said that entry into the temple will be from the eastern direction and exit will be from the south direction. The entire structure of the temple will be 3 storeyed. Devotees will have to climb 32 steps from the eastern side to reach the main temple.

The temple complex, built in traditional Nagara style, will be 380 feet long (east-west direction), 250 feet wide and 161 feet high. Each floor of the temple will be 20 feet high and will have a total of 392 pillars and 44 gates.

The Uttar Pradesh government is leaving no stone unturned to prepare for this special day and police personnel have been deployed at every nook and corner of the city.
