Bhawali: A horrific road accident in Bhawali, Nainital, has completely devastated the once-joyful family of Bhupendra Singh Chufal, a resident of Amau in Khatima. This family, which had set out on Thursday to offer prayers at Kainchi Dham, never returned. On Friday, four funeral pyres were lit simultaneously from their home.
The impact was so severe that the car was reduced to mangled wreckage. Bhupendra Singh, his wife Seema, their son Vasu, their daughter Ravi and their driver, Anuj Mishra, all died on the spot in the accident. The SDRF and the police used ropes to retrieve the bodies from the gorge.
Emotional Farewell in Khatima
On Friday, when the four mortal remains arrived at their residence in Amau, Khatima a massive crowd of mourners gathered there. Subsequently, the final rites were performed at Sharda Ghat in Banbasa, where the scene moved everyone present to tears. Husband Bhupendra Singh and wife Seema were laid side-by-side on a single funeral pyre and given the ritual fire.
Family Home Left in Deep Mourning
Bhupendra had been residing in the Amau region for the past 35 years. At home, only his elderly mother remains; she is inconsolable and in a state of utter distress from constant weeping. The very home that once resonated with the joy of holidays and the sounds of laughter is now shrouded in nothing but silence and mourning.
