Manish Tewari Alleges BJP Misusing Central Agencies, Says Punjab Now Being Targeted

Chandigarh MP and former Union Minister Manish Tiwari have attacked the central government. He said that since the BJP came to power at the center in 2014, government agencies and intelligence systems have been continuously misused. In Punjab, the Vigilance Department, and at the central government level, the ED and CBI are being misused.

To stop this, there is a need to make a strict law that completely prevents such use against political rivals. He said that in West Bengal, power was seized when the elections were not won.

1. Since 2014, when the BJP came to power at the center, the continuous misuse of government gas agencies and intelligence has been taking place. Whether it is the CBI, the ED, or the Income Tax Department. Many times, the judiciary has also given very serious comments on this. You have seen how, in West Bengal, the government was imposed by the BJP by cutting people’s votes. It did not win the elections. The government was seized.

2. Now there are elections in Punjab. Such a process has now started here as well. The question is not about the Aam Aadmi Party or Congress. The fundamental question is whether the government machinery is being misused for political enmity. It is unfortunate that those who are expressing so much anger about this should also introspect about how they use the government machinery in the state. This is a misuse of the government machinery.

3. In Punjab, the Vigilance Department, and at the central government level, the ED and CBI, are misused. There is a need to make a strong law to prevent such political enmity. Whoever is in the government, they fully use it against political rivals. When misuse happens by someone else, they call it political vendetta. When they themselves misuse it, they say the law is exercising its function. Double standards will not work here. The opposition needs to form a unanimous opinion and stance on this.
