Rain expected in Punjab on 13th: BSF officials took stock of flood damage, meeting after aerial survey

No alert has been issued regarding rain in Punjab today. Similar weather is expected for the next 5 days. However, there is a chance of normal rain on September 13. Meanwhile, there will not be much change in temperature. Rescue operations have intensified due to clear weather. The work of repairing broken and weak dams is being done rapidly.

BSF took stock of the damage to fencing and posts on the border. BSF ADG (IPS) Satish S. Khandare along with IG BSF Punjab (IPS) Dr. Atul Fuljele conducted an aerial survey of flood-affected border districts Gurdaspur, Amritsar and Ferozepur. During this, he took stock of the damage caused in the border areas and reviewed the security situation.

Free medical facilities are being provided to people and animals

ADG Khandare interacted with BSF officers on the spot and emphasized on keeping the security preparations strong on the water-logged border. He praised the BSF jawans who are providing free medical facilities to the local people and animals and are carrying out rapid rescue operations to take the affected families to safer places.

Later, the ADG held a security review meeting at the BSF Punjab Frontier Headquarters in Jalandhar. In this, he discussed in detail the current challenges on the border and the relief and rescue operations going on in the flood-affected areas.

Slight drop in temperature recorded in Punjab

Slight drop in temperature has been recorded in Punjab. The maximum temperature of the state has dropped by 0.5 degrees in the last 24 hours, it remains close to normal. At the same time, the highest temperature in the state was recorded at 35.3 degrees in Samrala, Ludhiana.

In the last 24 hours, rain was traced only in Pathankot, while 3.5 mm of rain was also recorded in some parts of the same district. At the same time, the maximum temperature of the state was recorded at 32.9 degrees in Amritsar, 33.2 degrees in Ludhiana, 33.9 degrees in Patiala, 33.6 degrees in Pathankot and 35.1 degrees in Bathinda.
