Businessman’s Activa Stolen in Ludhiana, Thief Surveyed Area Three Times Before Theft

Ludhiana: The audacity of vehicle thieves in Ludhiana has reached such a level that they are now committing crimes without any fear, even in the upscale Civil Lines locality. The latest incident occurred on Bindraban Road, where an Activa scooter parked outside the home of a shoe businessman in Lane Number 6 was stolen.

Scooter Stolen From Residential Lane

The thief was so brazen that, before executing the crime, he leisurely conducted a reconnaissance of the area; he then calmly rode away with the vehicle. The entire incident was captured on CCTV at the location.

The victim, Parth, stated that he had been parking his Activa in the lane outside his house for a considerable period, and no such incident had ever occurred before. As was his daily routine, he had parked his Activa in Lane Number 6 outside his home the previous night as well.

The following morning, when Parth stepped out of his house to head to work and went to retrieve his Activa, he discovered that it was missing from its spot. After making inquiries and searching the neighbourhood, which yielded no clues regarding the vehicle, the family immediately began reviewing the footage from CCTV cameras installed in the area, which subsequently revealed the full details of the theft.

CCTV Captured Entire Theft

Upon reviewing the CCTV footage, the thief’s entire modus operandi became clearly evident. Around 12:30 AM, a young man dressed in white clothing is seen entering the lane alone on foot. Upon entering the lane, he did not immediately attempt the theft; instead, he circled the Activa two or three times, thoroughly reconnoitring the area.

The footage shows the thief calmly sitting down outside a house. He first leisurely put on his shoes (boots) and then, without any haste or fear, stole the Activa and rode away. Judging by the thief’s demeanor, it was evident that he harbored no fear of the police or the law, and he executed the crime with the fearlessness of a professional thief.
