Woman Shot Dead at Ludhiana Financier’s Home; Husband Critical, Four Family Members Injured

Ludhiana: In Pritam Colony, Giaspura, Ludhiana, a dispute over a mere 20,000 rupees led to a house being entered and indiscriminate firing late at night. Four members of the same family were seriously injured in this deadly attack. Hospitalized, the victim, Sarabjit Kaur, has recounted her ordeal and appealed to the police for justice. The woman was hit by six bullets.

Sarabjit Kaur (43), who is fighting for her life on a hospital bed, said her family works in finance. About 7-8 months ago, she had lent her son 20,000 rupees on interest to a young man named Sagar. Sagar hadn’t returned the money or paid the interest for quite some time.

Last night at around 12 o’clock, the son called Sagar and demanded money, prompting Sagar to appear outside their house. An argument ensued between the two parties. Sagar began abusing and threatened to tell them, “Come here, I’ll tell you.” Meanwhile, Sagar called another friend, Mani.

Bullets started raining as soon as they arrived

According to Sarabjit Kaur, the dispute escalated as soon as Mani arrived. Without any discussion, Mani and Sagar suddenly opened fire. The attack was so sudden that the family didn’t have a chance to recover. They fired from very close range, carried out the crime, and fled.

Four family members were injured, the husband is in critical condition.

Four members of the family were injured in the firing. Sarabjit Kaur was hit by six bullets in both legs. Her husband remains in critical condition. His intestines and bladder were severely damaged by a bullet wound to the lower abdomen.

He underwent surgery and is currently being supported by medical equipment. Doctors are currently unclear about his condition. Devar was shot in the leg and suffered head injuries. Another bullet grazed his son’s leg.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV

The injured son drove the car himself and took the entire family to the hospital. Sarabjit Kaur said that no one was in the street at night, but the entire incident and the accused’s brutality were recorded on CCTV cameras installed in nearby shops.

Plea for justice: I am a mother, everything of mine has been ruined

Following the incident, police from the Giaspura outpost arrived at the hospital and recorded the victims’ statements. Police are investigating the case based on CCTV footage. A tearful Sarabjit Kaur said, “I’m a mother. I’ve been shot six times in the legs. I’ll endure it, but my husband is fighting for his life, and my only son was standing right there.”

They have demanded that the administration take strict action against the accused. Police say that statements have been recorded and an FIR will be filed against the accused soon and they will be arrested.
