CDS General Anil Chauhan to Inspire Medical Students in Garhwal

Srinagar, Garhwal: Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan will visit his home district of Srinagar, Garhwal, on February 21 to interact with medical students and motivate them on the importance of youth in nation-building.

Youth Interaction at Medical College

The CDS will meet students at the auditorium of Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Government Medical and Research Institute. He will share his experiences and discuss “Contribution of Students and Youth in a Developed India.” The session will focus on leadership, discipline, and national service.

Uttarakhand cabinet minister and regional MLA Dhan Singh Rawat will also attend the program.

Students Excited for Guidance

Dr. Ashutosh Sayana, Principal of the Institute, said all arrangements are complete. MBBS students expressed enthusiasm about receiving direct guidance from the country’s top military officer, calling it a proud and inspiring moment.

Program Origin and Objective

The initiative was first proposed at Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University and later extended to include medical students. The goal is to give future doctors a chance to interact with General Chauhan and learn lessons in leadership, discipline, and dedication to national service.

General Chauhan described addressing students from his home district as a special pride. He emphasized that youth play a critical role in shaping the nation and that serving society through the medical field is a powerful form of national service.
