Bilaspur (Himachal) : Factionalism was evident during the celebration marking two years of the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh.
While Congress state president Pratibha Singh was speaking on stage in Bilaspur, Bambar Thakur, a close aide of Virbhadra Singh and former Bilaspur MLA, interrupted her and prevented her from continuing her speech.
This brought frustration to Pratibha Singh. She remarked, “You do not want me to speak much. He is only discussing the organization.” Once she completed her address, she added, “One should not speak like this.
She knows how much to speak.” The audience in front of her was substantial, and the program was being broadcast live. With the internal conflicts in Congress becoming public during the meeting, it is likely that tensions may rise in the coming days.
Vyavastha Parivartan Se Atmanirbhar Himachal
During the program organized under the theme ” Vyavastha Parivartan Se Atmanirbhar Himachal,” Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu launched six new schemes.
In his address, he targeted BJP MP Harsh Mahajan, stating that Mahajan was previously a member of the Congress party and has now become an advisor to the BJP. Sukhu expressed concern that the number of BJP MLAs might decrease from 28 to 20, while Congress MLAs could increase from 40 to 48.
He mentioned that many BJP MLAs are currently in contact with the Congress party and noted that BJP leaders are conducting rallies in various groups, suggesting that this movement is aimed at preserving their positions.
