    Chandigarh Administration Issues Major Transfer, Posting Order; Charges Reassigned Across Departments

    Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Administration’s Department of Personnel has issued a comprehensive transfer and posting order, reassigning key charges among several officers following the joining of PCS officers Avikesh Gupta and Balbir Raj Singh.

    According to the official order, multiple senior officers have been given additional responsibilities across departments such as Home, Personnel, Food & Supplies, Industries, Education, and Transport. The reshuffle aims to streamline administrative functioning and fill key positions across departments.

    Akhil Kumar (DANICS) has been assigned roles including Additional Secretary (Establishment) and Director, Food & Supplies, among others. Amit Kumar (DANICS) will handle Coordination, Home/Protocol including Jails, Environment & Forests, and Personnel.

    Pradhuman Singh (HCS) has been given charge as Additional Excise & Taxation Commissioner, Director Industries, and Secretary of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), among other roles.

    Radhika Singh (HCS) will now serve as Director of Higher Education and Social Welfare, along with key roles in child and women development corporations. Sorabh Kumar Arora (PCS) has been posted as Director Sports and Director AYUSH, among other responsibilities.

    Nishant Singla (PCS) has been assigned the charge of Director School Education, along with roles in employment, labour, and renewable energy sectors.

    Newly joined officer Avikesh Gupta (PCS) will oversee Transport, Information Technology, Urban Planning, and Housing, while Balbir Raj Singh (PCS) has been posted in Prisons and Municipal Corporation.

    The order also details several relieving arrangements, with officers taking over responsibilities from outgoing counterparts to ensure continuity in administration.

    Officials said the reshuffle is part of routine administrative adjustments aimed at improving governance efficiency across departments.
