Char Dham offline registration starts, yatra in 2 days

Offline registration for the Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand has started from today. Registrations are being done in Haridwar, Dehradun, and Rishikesh. In Haridwar, 20 counters have been set up at Rishikul Maidan, and in Rishikesh, more than 30 counters have been set up at the Transit Camp and ISBT.

A large counter has been set up at Herbertpur Bus Stand in Dehradun. In addition, registrations are being done at Sonprayag, Jankichatti, Barkot (Yamunotri route), Hina (Uttarkashi), Pangi (Chamoli), Joshimath, Badrinath, Gaurikund, and Govindghat.

To register, you need to carry three things to the counter:

– Aadhaar card/ID card/PAN card/Driving license
– Your mobile number and a family member’s number
– The date for the Char Dham darshan

Know the complete registration process in 7 steps…

Registration center – Anyone can go to the designated offline counter of the Char Dham Yatra.
Medical checkup – First, your general medical test will be done there.
Document verification – After the test, you will be asked for an identity card (such as Aadhaar card) and it will be verified.
Biometric matching – After this, your fingerprints will be scanned, and face matching will complete the verification.
Mobile verification – You will be asked for a mobile number, which will be verified via OTP.
Date of journey – Finally, you will be asked for the date of your darshan.
Registration slip – After the process is completed, you will be given a slip with a QR code, which will indicate your date of darshan.

If you have come to register a friend or family member, it is mandatory to get their documents and mobile number verified as well.

Passenger checks will be conducted in Haridwar, Dehradun, and Rishikesh

During the Char Dham Yatra, multiple levels of checks will be carried out for the safety and health of the passengers:

First Stop (Haridwar) – Pilgrims starting their journey will first undergo a medical test and verification at Pantdeep Parking.
Second Stop (Dehradun) – If any passenger is missed during the check in Haridwar, they will be checked at Raiwala (Dehradun).
Third Stop (Rishikesh) – After that, verification of passengers’ documents and health will also be done in Rishikesh.
Final Check in the Dhams District – After these main centers, whichever district’s Dham (such as Kedarnath, Badrinath, etc.) you enter, checks will be conducted again at the entry point there.

The first stop of the Char Dham Yatra is Haridwar

The journey begins from Haridwar. The offline registration center has started at 10 AM in the Rishikul ground of the city. Long queues of devotees were seen here from the morning itself. District Magistrate Mayur Dixit and SSP Navneet Singh Bhullar personally checked the arrangements.

During this time, they welcomed the devotees who came for registration by putting garlands on them, offering sweets, and giving necessary items related to the journey. They also wished the travelers a safe journey.

Mayur Dixit informed that 20 counters have been set up in Rishikul ground so that no devotee has to wait for long. A large number of devotees are arriving in Haridwar from various states of the country including Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh.

Medical facilities, drinking water, toilets, and a help desk have been arranged at the registration center. Volunteers are also continuously guiding the pilgrims, which keeps the process smooth and organized.

Possibility of increased crowd, administration on alert mode

The DM stated that as the rest of the temples open their doors and school holidays begin, the number of pilgrims will increase rapidly. A large number of bookings have already been made in hotels and dharamshalas.

SSP Navneet Singh Bhullar stated that considering the pilgrimage, Haridwar police are fully prepared. To ensure smooth traffic, a three-tier plan has been made, with separate plans prepared for regular days, weekends, and festivals.

At the registration center, police force has been deployed under the supervision of a gazetted officer for security. This includes an inspector, sub-inspector, and female police personnel. Additionally, the fire service team is also present at the site.
