CM Mann’s Shukrana Yatra begins today from Jalandhar

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will begin his “Shukrana Yatra” from Jalandhar on Wednesday. He is expected to arrive around 4 pm, although the party has not yet released an official schedule. Jalandhar Rural Police is on full alert in anticipation of the CM’s visit.

High-level meeting on security preparations
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jalandhar Rural Harvinder Singh Virk to review security arrangements for the Yatra. SP Vineet Ahlawat, SP Mukesh Kumar, SP PBI Manjit Kaur, along with all DSPs, SHOs, and outpost in-charges were present. The main objective of the meeting was to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incident.

Anti-sabotage checking and strict barricading
SSP Virk directed that 24-hour police deployment be ensured along the entire route. Anti-sabotage checking and strong barricading will be carried out as part of security measures. High-tech checkpoints have been set up to enhance surveillance, and special two-wheeler checking will be conducted to keep an eye on anti-social elements.

Instructions to Maintain Smooth Traffic
Traffic police have also been given special responsibility to protect the general public from inconvenience. Instructions have been given to ensure smooth traffic flow during the Yatra and strict action should be taken against those violating rules. Additionally, orders have been given to maintain extra vigilance in sensitive areas and increase regular patrolling.
