Controversial Remarks on Elderly woman: MP Kangana Ranaut to appear virtually before Bathinda court today

Member of Parliament and actress Kangana Ranaut is scheduled to appear in the Bathinda court today. She will attend the hearing via video conferencing. Meanwhile, the elderly woman Mohinder Kaur’s husband will be present with his lawyer. During the previous hearing, the court recorded the statements of Mohinder Kaur and a witness.

Mohinder Kaur, an elderly woman from Bathinda, had filed a defamation case against Kangana Ranaut. Kangana Ranaut had appeared in the Bathinda court on October 27th in connection with this case. Subsequently, charges were framed against Kangana in court during the hearing on November 24th.

This case is related to the farmers’ protest of 2020-21. Kangana Ranaut had retweeted a post that contained a comment about Mohinder Kaur, a woman from a village in Bathinda district. In a tweet, Kangana had compared Mohinder Kaur to Bilkis Bano, the elderly woman from the Shaheen Bagh protest.

Earlier, Kangana Ranaut had appeared in the Bathinda court on October 27th. Kangana had also apologized to the elderly woman. At that time, Kangana had said that she couldn’t even imagine doing what she was accused of in her wildest dreams. She added that mothers, whether from Himachal Pradesh or Punjab, are equally respectable to her. However, Mohinder Kaur stated that she would not forgive Kangana and would continue to fight the case in court until the very end.
