Dehradun: At an event in Dehradun, Mohan Bhagwat stated that the era of partition in the country is over and a tragedy like the one of 1947 will never happen again. Speaking at a seminar on “Sangh Yatra – New Horizons, New Dimensions” at the Himalayan Cultural Centre, he said that society and the nation are now awakened and the country will never be divided again under any circumstances. He added that today the world is looking to India’s leadership.

Thoughts on Population Law, UCC, and Reservation

Bhagwat emphasized the need for a population control law and expressed support for the three-child norm. He praised the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) implemented in Uttarakhand and supported its implementation across the country.

On reservations, he said that reservations should continue until discrimination is eradicated from society’s consciousness. He described social harmony as a permanent solution to this problem.

Demand for 50% reservation for women

Describing women as half the power in society, he advocated for 50% reservation instead of 33%. He described education with values ​​as the foundation of nation-building and expressed the possibility of necessary changes in education policy in the future.

He said that live-in relationships are not acceptable in Indian society and that young people should fulfill their marital and social responsibilities.

No compromise with culture

Bhagwat said that corruption is a mental state and good conduct is required in governance and administration. He appealed to the new generation to behave with honesty and humility. He also said that technology cannot be accepted at the expense of culture and values ​​and that screen time should be limited in homes.
