Gujarat Police Seize Unaccounted Cash Worth Over ₹2 Crore from Car in Dahod

Dahod: Gujarat Police seized unaccounted cash worth more than ₹2.56 crore from a car near Dhanpur Chowkdi in the Limkheda area of the Dahod district during a routine vehicle inspection on Sunday.

According to police officials, three suspicious parcels were recovered from the vehicle and checked in the presence of police inspectors. Upon counting, the parcels were found to contain Indian currency notes amounting to ₹25,680,500.

Driver Failed to Produce Valid Documents

During questioning, the car driver, identified as Rajubhai Ninama, failed to provide any legal documents related to the large amount of cash. Police said the driver informed investigators that the money had been handed over by Bharat Chopra, a resident of Dahod, for delivery to Vadodara.

Preliminary investigation suggests the cash was allegedly being transported from an Angadia firm in Dahod to Vadodara.

The Limkheda police seized the entire amount under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and deposited the cash in the government treasury. Authorities have also informed the Income Tax Department for further investigation into the source and legality of the money.

Probe Underway Into Financial Transactions

Police officials said a detailed investigation is now underway to determine whether the money is linked to any illegal financial activities, tax evasion or unaccounted business transactions. Statements of the driver and other individuals connected to the case are being examined.

Officials added that further action will be taken based on the findings of the income tax department and local police investigation.
