Dainik Savera Donates Rs 11 Lakh for Flood Relief; Appeals for Collective Help

Dear readers, Jai Mata Di.

My heart is not the only one sad. I know that every person of North India is sad. Tears are not only in my eyes, there are tears in every eye that has seen this scene. The condition of those ears that have heard the screams of the suffering and crying people is not only felt by me but also by all of you.

Clouds bursting, mountains falling, roaring rivers, houses and buildings being swept away, devotees who went for a walk or to visit religious places getting buried under mountains and swallowed by rivers. How can anyone forget all this, dear readers! What would have been the condition of those whose family members got swept away in front of their eyes or died buried under rocks? My heart is in my mouth just thinking about it, then what would be the condition of those who have endured it? The heart trembles, thinking that a man went out somewhere two days ago, leaving behind his parents, wife and children, and his new house which he had built by taking a loan from the bank, but today there is no house, no parents and no wife and children.

Everything was washed away, and even the dead bodies were not found, even their last rites could not be performed. What would be the condition of those, who were running their lives and those of their children by animal husbandry, but flood came and all the animals were washed away to God knows where.

Not only were the animals washed away, but also the pieces of the heart were washed away and four to five days later their dead bodies were found many miles away. Not only this, many people are still wandering around crying, whose relatives are neither found alive nor their dead bodies found. No one knows whether they are alive or dead? Just think what would be the scene where the cloud bursts? What would the onlookers feel when their family members die in agony in front of their eyes? The mind is disturbed readers, and the biggest thing is that the disaster is still not stopping. No one knows what will happen where. We cannot bring back those who have gone away, we cannot even build houses for those whose houses have been destroyed. We cannot completely heal the deep wounds that have been inflicted on the hearts of those who survived. But we can at least try to apply some salve?

Thinking about this, Dainik Savera Times family has decided to make a small effort to help the affected people, to start a relief fund (flood relief fund). But no one can do anything alone, this noble work can be possible and successful only with everyone’s cooperation. All of you are a part of the Dainik Savera family, even earlier, whenever any disaster struck and we started a relief fund, we got your full cooperation.

We are going to start this fund with a small donation of Rs eleven lakh from our side. I am sure that I will get your immense support, but still I am making a humble request to you, please cooperate, contribute as much as you can. This will be your help for the survivours and a tribute to those who lost their lives.

Donors please note 

Donors can deposit their cheques in the name of ‘Dainik Savera Welfare Foundation’ and relief material such as flour, pulses, rice, sugar, bread and other household items in packets to help the needy at the office of Dainik Savera at 259, Lajpat Nagar, near Guru Nanak Mission Chowk, Jalandhar. Donors can also distribute their relief material among the victims themselves, Dainik Savera will provide facilities like vehicles etc. to the donors. Please also get a receipt while giving relief material.
