November 3, 2026

New Delhi: Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has been given lavish praise from former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, who stated that he is the best midfielder in the Premier League and one of the best players to ever play for the North London club.

Arsenal, the reigning Premier League champions, are off to another stellar start to the season after claiming the 2025-26 title. The Gunners have continued their rich form so far.

They have won eight games from their nine played, with several players contributing greatly to their form. Rice has been one of the standout players in the middle of the park.

“I think he is definitely the best midfielder in the Premier League. I’m surprised anyone doesn’t realise how good he is,” Carragher said of the England international.

“He’s the best midfielder in the Premier League by a country mile. It’s not even up for debate. Declan Rice is the best midfielder in this country. I am not an Arsenal fan but I sometimes do hear people talking about him. I am just shocked they don’t know anything about football and aren’t watching the same as me,” Carragher was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda.

Carragher Names Rice One Of The Best Midfielders To Play For Arsenal

Rice has been named one of the best midfielders to ever play for the Gunners, with Carragher comparing him to legends like Patrick Vieira and Liam Brady.

“They’re just world class. Without question, he is one of the best midfielders Arsenal have ever had. They’ve had some amazing ones. If you think of Patrick Vieira and Liam Brady then he’s right up there with them,” Carragher said.

This shows just how much of an impact he has made since arriving at the club.
