A crisis has arisen regarding the supply of cooking gas in the city. Due to the disruption in supply, there is a backlog of approximately two days. In light of the situation, the normal supply of commercial gas cylinders has been suspended. The booking number is also not working properly, causing inconvenience to consumers.
According to reports, gas agencies have been instructed to supply commercial cylinders only to essential services. Under this, commercial cylinders will be provided only to hospitals and educational institutions in the city, so that essential services are not affected.
Hotels, dhabas, and other commercial establishments will not be able to obtain commercial gas cylinders for the time being. This is likely to increase the problems of businesses. Officials with the gas agency say that efforts are underway to streamline the supply system, and normal supply will be restored soon after the backlog is cleared.
Meanwhile, in many areas of the city, people are having to wait for cylinder deliveries. District Supply Officer KK Agarwal has appealed to people to remain patient and refrain from booking unnecessary gas. He said efforts will be made to clear the backlog within the next two days.
