Delhi Police Nab Habitual Offender; Scooty, Knife Seized

The Delhi Police have arrested a habitual offender who was allegedly involved in multiple criminal activities across the national capital. During the arrest, officers recovered a stolen scooty and an illegal knife from the accused.

According to officials, the man has a long criminal history with at least 15 cases registered against him, including charges related to theft, robbery and violations under the Arms Act. The arrest was made as part of a routine operation aimed at controlling crime and tracking repeat offenders in the city.

Police said the accused had been evading authorities for some time before he was finally apprehended during a targeted operation.

    Arrest Made During Routine Patrol

The arrest was carried out by a team of Delhi Police personnel during a routine patrol in the area. Officers noticed a suspicious individual riding a scooty and attempted to stop him for verification.

However, the suspect reportedly tried to flee the scene after noticing the police presence. After a brief chase, the police team managed to intercept and detain him.

During the search, officers recovered an illegal knife from his possession. The vehicle he was riding was later confirmed to be a stolen scooty reported missing earlier from another part of the city.

    Accused Has Long Criminal History

Investigators revealed that the accused is a known habitual offender with a long criminal background. Police records show that 15 criminal cases have been registered against him at various police stations in Delhi.

These cases include theft, robbery, and possession of illegal weapons. Officials said the accused had previously been arrested several times but continued to engage in criminal activities after being released.

Police believe that he may also be linked to other unsolved theft cases in the region.

    Stolen Scooty Recovered

One of the major recoveries during the arrest was the stolen two-wheeler. The scooty had reportedly been stolen recently from a local neighbourhood.

Police officials confirmed that the vehicle has now been recovered and will be returned to its rightful owner after completing legal formalities.

Vehicle theft is one of the common urban crimes in metropolitan cities, and authorities frequently conduct special drives to track stolen vehicles and apprehend offenders.

    Case Registered Under Arms Act

Authorities have registered a fresh case against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code as well as provisions of the Arms Act for carrying an illegal weapon.

The suspect has been taken into police custody and will be questioned further to determine whether he was planning any criminal activity at the time of his arrest.

Investigators are also trying to identify possible associates who may have been involved in vehicle theft or other illegal activities with the accused.

Police Continue Crackdown on Repeat Offenders

Officials said the arrest is part of a larger effort by Delhi Police to crack down on repeat offenders and prevent crime in the national capital.

Special teams regularly monitor the movements of individuals with criminal records and conduct patrols in crime-prone areas to deter illegal activities.

Police have urged citizens to remain vigilant and immediately report suspicious activities or theft incidents to authorities.

    Efforts to Improve Public Safety

The Delhi Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order in the city through continuous surveillance and swift action against criminals.

Officials stated that strict action will continue against habitual offenders who attempt to disrupt public safety.

The arrest of the accused, along with the recovery of the stolen vehicle and weapon, is expected to help prevent further criminal incidents and strengthen security in the area.
