Delhi: Class 9 Student Dies After Stabbing in Nangloi, 3 Juveniles Apprehended

New Delhi: A 15-year-old Class 9 student died after he was allegedly stabbed in the thigh following an altercation over his friendship with a female schoolmate in Delhi’s Nangloi area, police said.

The incident took place on Thursday when the boy was on his way to school with his friends and a female schoolmate. Police said three boys intercepted the group and questioned the girl about her friendship with the deceased.

Student stabbed during second confrontation

According to the police investigation, a brief altercation took place after the three boys questioned the girl. The deceased and his friends then started returning home.

Around 15 to 20 minutes later, the same three boys allegedly intercepted them again and picked a quarrel over the boy’s friendship with the girl.

During the altercation, one of the boys allegedly stabbed the Class 9 student in his right thigh with a knife. The three juveniles then fled the spot, police said.

Boy dies due to excessive blood loss

Police received information at around 1:51 pm on Thursday that the boy had been admitted to Sonia Hospital with a stab injury.

A police team reached the hospital and found the teenager with a stab wound measuring approximately 3 inches by 1.5 inches on his right thigh.

The boy later succumbed to excessive blood loss during treatment.

Three juveniles apprehended

Police have registered a murder case under FIR No. 344/26 at Nangloi Police Station.

All three juveniles allegedly involved in the incident were apprehended within a few hours, police said.

Further investigation is underway to establish the complete sequence of events and the role of each juvenile in the incident.
