Delhi-NCR Rain Alert: IMD Issues Yellow Alert, Thunderstorms Expected

New Delhi: Delhi-NCR is likely to experience another spell of rain and thunderstorms on Friday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting light to moderate showers across several areas and issuing a yellow alert for the national Capital.

Delhi is expected to remain mostly cloudy, with intermittent rainfall and a possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, particularly during the evening and night. The weather is likely to provide some relief from the recent humid conditions, with the maximum temperature expected to remain around 31 degrees Celsius and the minimum near 24 degrees Celsius.

Rain likely across Delhi-NCR

In Noida, cloudy skies and spells of rain are expected, with temperatures likely to remain between 24 and 30 degrees Celsius. The rainfall may bring temporary relief, although humidity could continue to remain high.

Gurgaon is also likely to witness cloudy weather and afternoon showers. Temperatures may hover between 24 and 30 degrees Celsius, while isolated parts of Haryana could receive heavy rainfall.

Ghaziabad may see intermittent rain and thundershowers, with temperatures expected to range between 25 and 33 degrees Celsius.

In Faridabad, cloudy conditions and rain are likely, with temperatures expected to remain between 24 and 30 degrees Celsius. Isolated areas of southern Haryana could receive heavy showers.

IMD warns of thunderstorms, strong winds

The IMD has forecast continued rain and thunderstorms across parts of Delhi-NCR on Saturday, with rainfall activity likely to gradually weaken after the weekend.

The developing weather system over the Bay of Bengal is expected to influence weather conditions across several states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, supporting widespread rainfall in the coming days.

The weather department has also warned of strong winds reaching around 70 kmph during intense thunderstorms in vulnerable areas.

Commuters have been advised to remain cautious as rain could reduce visibility and make roads slippery, while strong winds and lightning could cause temporary disruptions.
