Two Drug Smugglers Arrested Near India-Pakistan Border in Amritsar, Eight Heroin Packets Seized

Amritsar: Security forces have arrested two drug smugglers near the India-Pakistan border in Amritsar. A joint team of the BSF and the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) conducted the operation in Balladwal village, Ajnala. Eight packets of heroin were recovered from the drug smugglers.

Evidence Seized from Suspects

According to sources, police and security forces also seized three mobile phones and a vehicle from the arrested suspects. During interrogation, it was revealed that the suspects may be linked to an interstate and possibly international drug trafficking ring.

Forensic Investigation to Reveal Smuggling Network

ANTF officials stated that forensic examination of the accused’s mobile phones could yield valuable information. These mobile phones could reveal not only the network of smugglers, but also information about their other associates and potential transactions. Officials say the investigation is likely to yield significant revelations, potentially proving crucial in drug trafficking cases.

A senior BSF official stated that vigilance has been increased along the border and such joint operations will continue. He added that such operations will not only curb drug trafficking but also ensure the safety of the public and youth.

Increased Border Vigilance and Public Appeal

The local administration and police have appealed to the public to immediately report any suspicious activity to the nearest police or security forces. According to officials, following the arrests and mobile forensic investigations, further operations will soon be launched to locate the accused’s other hideouts and associates.
