Ludhiana witnessed high activity on Wednesday morning after a central agency conducted raids at multiple premises linked to businessman Jatinder Sachdeva in the Green City area on Ferozepur Road.
According to sources, teams from the agency arrived early in the morning and began searches at Sachdeva’s residence and other business-related locations in the city. Officials reportedly questioned the businessman regarding financial documents and business transactions during the operation.
Multiple Locations Searched Across City
Reports suggest that raids were simultaneously carried out at several other locations associated with the businessman. During the searches, the investigating team allegedly seized a number of important documents and electronic devices for examination.
The sudden movement of central agency vehicles and officials in the area created a stir among local residents in Green City during the early hours.
No Official Statement Released Yet
As of now, the agency involved in the operation has not issued any official statement regarding the purpose of the raids or the nature of the investigation. Sources indicate that further details may emerge only after the completion of the inquiry.
Witnesses said there was complete silence outside the premises while the operation was underway, with security personnel restricting movement around the area.
Recent ED Raids in Punjab
The latest operation comes weeks after the Enforcement Directorate conducted raids at the residence and offices of former Punjab cabinet minister Sanjeev Arora.
Two days later, the agency also raided premises linked to Arora’s close associate Neeraj Satija, along with firms connected to Arora, his partners and his son. Arora was later arrested in connection with the case.
The ED is reportedly investigating allegations of money laundering, fake export billing, round-tripping of funds from the UAE, and fake purchases through non-existent GST entities linked to the companies under scrutiny.
