Encounter between police and gangsters in Amritsar: One killed, one flee from spot

There is a report of a late-night encounter between Amritsar police and two gangsters, in which one gangster died, while the other managed to escape from the spot. The police have recovered a motorcycle and two pistols from the spot. Providing information, the Police Commissioner stated that a checkpoint was established based on secret information to apprehend the accused. When they were asked to stop, they opened fire on the police. In retaliation, a gangster, Harjinder Singh alias Harry, was injured and was admitted to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, where he died during treatment.

He said that Harry’s second accomplice fled the spot, whose name is Sunny, a resident of Attari. He said that about five cases are registered against the deceased Harjinder Singh in different police stations and one in Pathankot. He said that the gangsters sitting outside the accused had links with the ISI.

According to the Police Commissioner, a major revelation has come out about the dangerous accused recently arrested by the Amritsar Police. According to the police, whenever this accused comes out of jail, he would directly contact old gang members and criminal contacts. During the investigation, a detailed verification of all his previous location details, call records, and meeting points is being done.

According to the police officials, technology is being misused in today’s “fast-moving crime mode”. Just as drugs and weapons are being smuggled across the border from Pakistan through drones, similarly, this accused was also carrying out anti-national activities through his established network. The police revealed that these people are planning and executing secretly using virtual numbers, fake profiles, and social media platforms.

The investigation has also revealed that the accused Harjinder Singh alias Harry, a resident of Judge Nagar, Mohkampure. He had gone to jail in various cases, some of which are from Pathankot and some from the Amritsar Commissionerate. Currently, the police have opened the file of five serious cases and started investigating his old record. After scanning his ID, many new facts have been found, which are speeding up the investigation. He said that one of his accomplices, who was sitting behind his motorcycle, whose name is Sunny, who is a resident of Attari, managed to escape; our teams are also engaged to catch him.
