Punjab BJP Chief Seeks ESIC Sub-Regional Office in Bathinda

Chandigarh: Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon has urged Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh L. Mandaviya to establish a sub-regional office of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) in Bathinda.

Dhillon forwarded a representation from the ESIC Employees’ Union, Punjab Region, Chandigarh, to the Union Minister and extended his support to the demand.

Demand for ESIC Office in Bathinda

Dhillon said there has been a long-standing need for an ESIC sub-regional office in Punjab’s Malwa region.

He said lakhs of insured people, pensioners, employers and other beneficiaries from Bathinda, Mansa, Muktsar Sahib, Barnala, Faridkot, Fazilka and adjoining areas currently depend on offices located far away for ESIC-related services.

As a result, beneficiaries have to spend additional time and money travelling to distant offices and may also face difficulties in accessing essential services.

The Punjab BJP chief urged the Union Minister to approve the Bathinda office, saying it would make ESIC services more accessible to workers, pensioners, employers and other beneficiaries across the Malwa region.

Dhillon Welcomes BJP National Team

Meanwhile, Dhillon welcomed the new national team announced by the BJP’s central leadership.

He congratulated B. L. Santosh on his reappointment as national General Secretary (Organisation), saying his organisational experience would benefit party workers across the country.

Dhillon also welcomed the appointment of Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Chugh as in-charge of the national office and described it as a matter of pride for the Punjab BJP.

Former Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal has been given the responsibility of national Vice-President.

Dhillon also welcomed the appointment of Rajya Sabha MP Dr Satish Poonia as national General Secretary and Punjab in-charge, saying his strategic experience would strengthen the party’s grassroots organisation in the state.
