Fazilka Police arrest two in encounter linked to Sahilpreet murder case

Amritsar, August 3: Fazilka Police has arrested two accused in an encounter in the firing case that took place in the district the previous day. Let us tell you that 5 attackers riding in a car and 3-4 attackers riding on a motorcycle had shot Sahilpreet.

According to information received from sources, a case was registered under sections 103,351(2), 191(3), 190 BNS, sections 25, 27, 54, 59 of the Arms Act under FIR No. 57, dated 22-04-2025, at PS City Fazilka.

This FIR was registered on the basis of the statement of deceased Sahilpreet’s father Sukhwinder Singh, who had said that about 4-5 days before the incident, some of the accused had threatened him over the phone that “we will not let your son live.”

Sahilpreet Singh, son of complainant Sukhwinder Singh, was involved in several cases including legal and Arms Act charges (four earlier FIRs registered at Arniwala police station).

Let us tell you that on the day of the incident, Sahilpreet had attended the court hearing in connection with FIR No. 116 registered on 25.09.2022 and was returning home from Judicial Court Complex Fazilka. When Sahilpreet reached Shivpuri Chowk in his car (PB 22X 5888), about 150 meters from the court complex, a car (DL 03 CВА 6070) came from the front and deliberately hit his vehicle.

Immediately after the accident, 5 assailants from that car and 3-4 others on motorcycles opened fire on Sahilpreet. In this firing, one bullet hit him in the head, due to which he died on the spot. Immediately after the firing, the assailants fled the spot.

Let us tell you that Sahilpreet Singh was already involved in many cases under the Arms Act.

The police were continuously searching for the accused in this case. Among them, the two wanted accused Sahil Josan son of Sandeep Kumar, resident of Chak Chukar, and Sukhpal Singh alias Palu son of Satnam, resident of Moana Road, Arniwala, have been arrested in a police encounter. Both the accused were injured in this encounter. Under which they have been admitted to a local hospital.
