Ferozepur Gaba Murder Case: AGTF Punjab, Ferozepur Police and J&K Police arrest two Rajasthan shooters in joint operation; arms recovered

Punjab: The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) ​​has achieved another major breakthrough in the ongoing campaign against gangsters and criminals in Punjab. The police have apprehended two key shooters involved in the sensational murder of prominent businessman Gurcharan Singh Gaba in the Makhu area of ​​Ferozepur.

The arrest was made in Jammu & Kashmir during a highly confidential joint operation involving the Punjab Police, Ferozepur Police, and Jammu & Kashmir Police. The Director General of Police (DGP) of Punjab shared details of this significant success on his official ‘X’ (Twitter) handle.

According to the Punjab DGP, AGTF teams had been conducting continuous raids to locate the shooters ever since the murder of Gurcharan Singh Gaba (Makhu, Ferozepur). The police had received concrete intelligence indicating that, after committing the crime, both shooters had fled Punjab and were hiding in Jammu & Kashmir.

Subsequently, the AGTF, in coordination with the Ferozepur and Jammu & Kashmir police, laid a trap, cornered the accused from all sides, and apprehended them. Both arrested shooters are originally from Rajasthan.

Upon searching the two accused at the time of their arrest, police teams recovered highly lethal weapons. A foreign-made Beretta .30 bore pistol and 10 live .30 bore cartridges were seized from their possession. The police are now investigating who supplied them with this sophisticated foreign weapon.

Initial interrogation and investigation have revealed details that have stunned the police. The two arrested individuals are not petty criminals but professional offenders with criminal records (history-sheeters).

Multiple serious cases—including extortion, robbery, dacoity, theft, and violations of the Arms Act—are registered against both accused in Rajasthan and other states. Fed up with their activities, the Rajasthan Police had even announced a reward of ₹10,000 on them.

Fresh FIR Registered at Makkhu Police Station

The police have registered a fresh FIR at the Makkhu police station regarding this matter and have initiated further action. The Punjab DGP has clarified that the accused are being subjected to intensive interrogation to identify the true mastermind behind the murder of Gurcharan Singh Gaba and to uncover links to any major gangster network.

The Punjab DGP stated on ‘X’ that the Punjab Police is fully committed to completely eradicating organized crime networks from the state and ensuring the safety of every citizen. Criminals will not be spared at any cost.
