Two Smugglers Arrested With 19.820 Kg Heroin in Ferozepur; BSF, ANTF Uncover Pakistan Links

Ferozepur: The Border Security Force (BSF) and Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Ferozepur Range, arrested two alleged smugglers and seized 19 kg 820 grams of heroin during a joint operation along the India-Pakistan border on Saturday.

The accused have been identified as Baljinder Singh alias Rocky and Manjit Singh alias Gagandeep, both residents of Langeana village. The operation was conducted based on intelligence inputs received by the BSF.

Heroin Hidden Inside Rubber Tube

According to officials, the seized heroin was concealed in 20 packets inside a rubber tube measuring around four feet in length.

The joint team recovered the narcotics during the operation and arrested both accused. A mobile phone and Rs 30 in cash were also recovered from their possession.

Probe Reveals Contact With Pakistan-Based Smugglers

According to the ANTF, the investigation so far has revealed that the two accused were allegedly in contact with smugglers based in Pakistan.

Investigators said the accused were allegedly involved in transporting drug consignments that arrived from across the border to other destinations.

Further investigation is underway to establish the complete network involved in the alleged smuggling operation and trace other possible links connected to the seized consignment.
