New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to table two important bills — the Finance Bill, 2026 and the Corporate Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026 — in Parliament on Monday.
Finance Bill for 2026-27
The Finance Bill, 2026 aims to implement the Central Government’s financial proposals for the 2026–27 fiscal year. The minister will move the bill for consideration and seek its passage, marking a key step in executing budgetary and economic policies.
Corporate Law Amendments
The Corporate Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026 proposes changes to the Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008 and the Companies Act, 2013, which govern corporate functioning, compliance, and business regulations in India.
IBC Reforms & Faster Resolutions
The Union Cabinet has already approved amendments to the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, paving the way for a new bill. Based on recommendations by a parliamentary committee led by Baijayant Panda, the reforms aim to speed up bankruptcy cases, strengthen creditor powers, and introduce a framework for cross-border insolvency.
