Former cricketer and MP Harbhajan Singh will get security, Punjab government files reply in High Court

The High Court disposed of the petition seeking restoration of security for Rajya Sabha member and cricketer Harbhajan Singh. The High Court said that he has now got Y security from the central security forces, which is sufficient. The Punjab government also ordered that the Punjab Police will provide security to Harbhajan Singh whenever he is in Punjab.

What did the Punjab government say?

The Punjab government said that Harbhajan Singh’s security was restored after a threat assessment. He has now got Y security from the central government and spends most of his time outside Punjab. He will be provided with adequate security whenever he is in Punjab.

BJP MP had alleged

It is worth noting that Harbhajan Singh had filed a petition in the High Court alleging that earlier 25 police personnel were deployed for his security, but as soon as he left the Aam Aadmi Party, the government withdrew his security in a vindictive spirit. However, the central government later provided him Y security. Harbhajan Singh had demanded that his security be restored.
