Green Corridor Meant Only for Organ Transportation, Clarifies ACP Jatin Bansal

Ludhiana: Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Jatin Bansal clarified that the Green Corridor created in Ludhiana is only for organ transplant patients. He stated that the capacity of this system has been specifically designed with organ transplant cases in mind.

Organ transplants given priority, other emergency services automatically relieved
According to ACP Bansal, the police receive prior information from the hospital in every organ transplant case. Following this, police are deployed at designated locations along the route to ensure safe and timely transportation of organs. He also clarified that in case of fire brigade, ambulance, or other emergencies, the police will automatically give priority, as before.

Phase 1 includes congested routes, work on smart signal system underway
The first phase of the Green Corridor covers the Chandigarh Road–Samrala Chowk–Fortis Hospital route, considered the most congested area in the city. Smart traffic lights are being installed at four major intersections along this route. ACP Bansal stated that a trial run was conducted 3–4 days ago. This system is now being implemented under the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation’s ITMS (Intelligent Traffic Management System) project. Work is currently underway, and there are plans to add new areas to the Green Corridor in the future.

The ACP appealed to the media not to spread rumors, reiterating that the Green Corridor is only activated during organ transplants.
