New Delhi: Gujarat Local Body Election 2026 results showed a massive win for the Bharatiya Janata Party across municipalities and nagarpalikas. In municipality seats, BJP won 937 out of 1044 total seats, while Indian National Congress secured 95 seats and Aam Aadmi Party managed 6 seats.

In Nagarpalika results, BJP again dominated with 1976 seats out of 2624, while Congress got 484 seats and AAP won 25 seats.

Strong Performance in District and Taluka Panchayats

In District Panchayat elections, BJP secured 893 out of 1090 seats. Congress won 141 seats, while AAP got 55 seats.

Taluka Panchayat results also remained heavily in BJP’s favour, with the party winning 3829 out of 5234 total seats. Congress secured 964 seats and AAP managed 360 seats.

Overall Results Show BJP’s Clear Sweep

The total results across all local bodies stood at 9,992 seats. BJP emerged as the clear winner with 7,635 seats.

Congress finished a distant second with 1,684 seats, while AAP won 446 seats.

Opposition Faces Major Setback

The results reflect BJP’s strong grassroots presence in Gujarat and deal a major setback to both Congress and AAP in the state’s local governance elections.

The sweeping victory is being seen as a major political boost for the BJP ahead of future electoral battles in Gujarat.
