Gurdaspur: 4 smugglers caught with 80 crores heroin at Indo-Pak border; 3 mobiles, 2 motorcycles also recovered

The Border Security Force (BSF) and the Punjab Police have achieved major success in a joint operation. In a smooth and swift operation at the Gurdaspur border, the two security agencies foiled a major international drug smuggling attempt. Four drug smugglers were arrested, and a large quantity of heroin was recovered from their possession.

There has been a surge in smuggling incidents on the border after the floods. This is the fourth major success achieved by the two agencies in a joint operation in 6 days. According to officials, based on reliable intelligence, the BSF and Punjab Police carried out a joint operation in Thetharke village of Gurdaspur district.

Four drug smugglers were arrested in this operation. During the search, five packets of heroin (total weight about 10 kg), three mobile phones and two motorcycles were recovered from them. Of the four arrested, two are from Amritsar and two from Gurdaspur.

The arrested smugglers have been identified as youths from Manepur and Ballagan villages of Gurdaspur district and Pakha Tara Singh and Bhalla Colony of Amritsar district. This joint operation of the BSF and the Punjab Police is being considered a major achievement. Officials said that this operation shows the coordination, hard work and dedication of both agencies towards national security.
