Ajmeet Singh Shot Dead in Tarn Taran in September

Ajmeet Singh, 21, was shot dead by motorcycle-borne assailants in Naushera Pannuan on September 11, 2026. He reportedly sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the attack.

The murder brought renewed attention to the gang rivalry operating in the region. According to the preliminary findings shared by Punjab Police, the killing was allegedly carried out at the behest of fugitive gangsters Prabh Dassuwal and Doni Bal, who are based abroad.

Police are investigating the alleged roles of the accused and the wider criminal network connected to the killing.

Another Accused, Sajanpreet Singh, Arrested Earlier

Before Gurlal Singh’s arrest, another accused, Sajanpreet Singh, had been arrested by the AGTF Punjab in a joint operation with Tarn Taran Police in connection with the same murder case.

With the latest arrest, investigators are continuing efforts to establish the roles of the accused and identify other individuals who may have been involved in planning or executing the crime.

Police Probe Gangster Network and Wider Links

Punjab Police said the entire module linked to the murder had been unearthed and that further investigation was underway to establish its forward and backward linkages.

Investigators are expected to examine the network’s connections and determine the extent of the alleged involvement of the foreign-based gangsters and other associates.

The allegations against the accused and the suspected involvement of the named gangsters remain subject to investigation and legal proceedings.
