Amritsar, April 13: This year a palpable sense of religious devotion is evident at the Golden Temple in Amritsar on the auspicious occasion of the ‘Khalsa Sajna Divas’ (the founding day of the Khalsa Panth) and Vaisakhi. Grand preparations are underway for special ‘Gurmat Samagams’ (religious congregations) to mark this sacred occasion.
Bhagwant Singh, the manager of the Golden Temple, extended his heartfelt greetings to the Sangat (congregation) on this holy day. He announced that, on Tuesday marking the ‘Khalsa Sajna Divas’ a special Amrit Sanchar ceremony will be held at ‘Sri Akal Takht Sahib’ within the Golden Temple complex, where a large number of devotees are expected to partake in Amrit and pledge to walk the path of the Guru.
Day-long Religious Congregations and a Grand Evening Illumination
He further informed that a series of Gurmat Samagams will take place throughout the day, featuring Kirtan (hymn singing), Katha (religious discourse) and the sharing of spiritual insights. The evening hours promise a special attraction following the recitation of Rehras Sahib, a magnificent Deepmala (illumination ceremony) will be performed within the precincts of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib.
Alongside this, a captivating and ethereal fireworks display will light up the sky, further heightening the joy of this auspicious festival. The congregation will revel in this divine spectacle and experience the glory of the Guru’s abode.
Robust Security Arrangements for the Crowds of Devotees
In view of the massive crowds of devotees, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has put in place robust arrangements regarding security, ‘Darshan’ (holy viewing), and general logistics, ensuring that all devotees can participate in this sacred event in a peaceful manner.
