Akal Takht declares Punjab Edu Minister as ‘Tankhaiya’, pronounces religious punishment

The Akal Takht has declared Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains as ‘Tankhaiyya’ and also announced the religious punishment for him. Akal Takht ordered him to undergo the punishment specified by it in its directions.

Let us tell you that Harjot Bains has been found blameworthy for an incident in Srinagar where proper Sikh maryada was not maintained in a program commemorating the 350th Martyrdom Centenary of Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur. The event was co-organized by the Language Department under Harjot Bains’s ministry.

Religious Punishment imposed on Harjot Singh Bains

1. Walk from Sri Darbar Sahib to Gurdwara Guru ke Mahal:

   • The minister must walk from Sri Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple) to Gurdwara Guru ke Mahal.

   • Streets and lanes along this route must be cleaned and repaired.

2. Tankhah at Gurdwara Kotha Sahib:

   • The minister must start 100 meters behind the Gurdwara and walk on foot to the shrine.

   • Roads along this route must also be cleaned and repaired.

3. Visit to Gurdwara Baba Bakala Sahib:

   • The minister must walk the last 100 meters (or nearby distance) on foot.

   • Ensure road repairs and necessary arrangements.

4. Seva at Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib (Delhi):

   • The minister must visit and bow at the shrine.

5. Seva at Anandpur Sahib:

   • Perform seva for two days at the Jora Ghar (shoe house).

   • Prepare Deg (community food offering) worth ₹1100.

   • Conduct an Ardas (prayer).
