AAP’s Harmeet Singh Sandhu Files Nomination for Tarn Taran Bypoll Amid Massive Roadshow

Tarn Taran: AAP candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu filed his nomination for the Tarn Taran Assembly by-election today. Several senior party leaders, including Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab Affairs in-charge Manish Sisodia, and Cabinet Minister Aman Arora, arrived in Tarn Taran for the occasion.

Before filing his nomination, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Manish Sisodia, and other AAP leaders held a roadshow and addressed the crowd. During the roadshow, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said, “If you elect Harmeet Sandhu, your work will be prioritized.”

Rally in Tarn Taran

This was a show of strength by the Aam Aadmi Party in Tarn Taran before filing nominations. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led the roadshow, which began at Bohdi Chowk, Tarn Taran. Thousands of party workers and supporters gathered for the rally.

Seat fell vacant after the death of Dr Kashmir Sohal 

This seat fell vacant after the death of AAP MLA Dr. Kashmir Singh Sohal. Voting will take place on November 11 and counting will take place on November 14. All four major parties have fielded candidates.

Among these, Harmeet Singh Sandhu from AAP, Karanbir Singh Burj from Congress, Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa from Akali Dal, Harjeet Singh Sandhu from BJP and Mandeep Singh from Akali Dal Waris Punjab De are contesting the elections.

AAP candidate who was a three-time MLA and CPS

Harmeet Singh Sandhu, who entered politics in 1998, won Tarn Taran as an independent in 2002, on a SAD ticket in 2007, and for a third time in 2012. He has twice served as Chief Party Secretary in the SAD government.

Harmeet Singh, known to be close to Bikramjit Singh Majithia, left the Shiromani Akali Dal in 2024. He joined the Aam Aadmi Party on July 15, 2025.
