Hisar, June 15: In Haryana, amidst the scorching heat of 45 degree temperature, it rained at many places. On Sunday morning, it rained in 8 districts, Panipat, Kaithal, Sonipat, Faridabad, Rohtak, Kurukshetra, Jind and Jhajjar. In Sonipat, the streets were flooded due to rain for one hour.

The sky is cloudy in Yamunanagar, Narnaul, Ambala and Sirsa. Clouds are also covering Hisar, and strong winds are blowing. The Meteorological Department has also issued a storm alert in 9 districts. These districts include Sonipat, Panipat, Jind, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Ambala, Panchkula and Yamunanagar.

Dr. Madan Khichad, Head of the Department of Agricultural Meteorology, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, said that this is not pre-monsoon rain, but the western disturbance has become active, due to which the weather may remain like this for 2 days.

There is a possibility of a change in weather again due to the possibility of the arrival of pre-monsoon winds in the state from June 19, due to which there is a possibility of an increase in humidity in the atmosphere and a drop in temperature.

Haryana government issued guidelines on heat: 

Amid the rising heat, the government on Saturday issued guidelines that for the next few days women should avoid cooking between 12 noon and 4 pm (peak hours). Do not wear black clothes while going out. If you go out, wear loose clothes. Keep drinking water frequently. DC of every district was asked to remain alert.
