MP BJP Chief Hemant Khandelwal Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Spreading Lies, Creating ‘False’ Narratives

New Delhi/Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh BJP president Hemant Khandelwal on Tuesday accused Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi of adopting “double standards” on issues concerning students and questioned his silence over the police action against protesting students and job aspirants in Ranchi.

Khandelwal compared the Ranchi incident with student protests in Delhi, where Rahul Gandhi had criticised police action against protesters and raised concerns related to examinations.

Khandelwal Questions Rahul Gandhi’s Silence

Addressing a press conference, Khandelwal criticised the alleged use of force against students protesting in Ranchi.

He questioned why Rahul Gandhi had spoken strongly about police action during protests in Delhi but had not taken a similar position over the Ranchi incident.

The BJP leader alleged that the students in Ranchi were holding a peaceful protest when the Jharkhand government ordered police action against them.

His remarks came amid a political controversy over the handling of the student agitation in Ranchi, where job aspirants have been protesting over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations.

Ranchi Protests Focus on JPSC, JSSC Exams

The student agitation in Ranchi has centred on demands concerning examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).

The protests intensified after demonstrators attempted to march towards the Jharkhand Assembly, following which police used force to disperse the protesters.

The BJP has criticised the Jharkhand government over the police action and has sought to make the issue a political flashpoint, particularly because the Congress is part of the ruling alliance in Jharkhand.

The protesting students have been demanding greater transparency in the recruitment process and an independent investigation into alleged irregularities.

BJP Challenges Rahul Gandhi to Raise Issue in Parliament

Khandelwal also criticised the Opposition over disruptions in Parliament, alleging that Rahul Gandhi was attempting to build a political narrative instead of allowing the government to respond to issues raised by the Opposition.

He said Union Home Minister Amit Shah was ready to respond to questions concerning students and challenged Rahul Gandhi to raise the Ranchi incident in Parliament.

Khandelwal also alleged that the Opposition had been demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations and had sought a discussion on the matter in Parliament.

The BJP has maintained that the government is prepared to discuss examination-related concerns in Parliament, while the Opposition has continued to demand accountability over alleged irregularities.

The latest remarks have added to the political dispute surrounding the Ranchi student protests, with the BJP targeting the Congress-led political alliance in Jharkhand and questioning Rahul Gandhi’s response to the police action.
