If false information is given in the affidavit for selection in BPL, not only will the name be removed from the list, but the benefit taken will also have to be returned. The state government has issued a new format of affidavit for applying in BPL, in which this has been specifically mentioned. 2,82,370 families included in BPL in the state will have to apply on the new format of declaration/affidavit for selection. The state government has issued a new format to remove the confusion in the old format. It will be made available on the website of all Block Development Officer offices and Rural Development Department.
The applicants will first have to give details of the names of family members, BPL serial number, gender, caste, age, relationship with the head of the family and occupation. Evidence related to the criteria will have to be attached with the application. In which there is no adult member of the age 18 to 59 in the family. The head of the family is a woman (widow, unmarried, divorced, abandoned) and there is no adult male member. The head of the family himself is more than 50 percent disabled. All the adult members of the family have worked for 100 days under MNREGA in the last financial year. The earning member of the family has become permanently disabled due to suffering from cancer, Alzheimer’s, muscular dystrophy, hemophilia, thalassemia or any other serious disease.
Apart from this, the family does not have a permanent house to live in, the family does not pay income tax, annual income from all sources is less than 50,000, there is less than one hectare of land, no member is in government, semi-government or private job, information of all these has to be given with evidence. A declaration has to be made that the information given in the affidavit is absolutely correct. If the information is found to be wrong, the name of my family should be removed from the BPL list. After selection in BPL, if the information given by me is proved to be false in future, then it would be appropriate to compensate all the benefits taken while being in the BPL list.
