Hola Mahalla in Amritsar today: Nagar Kirtan from Golden Temple, Holi of flowers will be played

In Amritsar, Punjab, the Nagar Kirtan from the Golden Temple is being celebrated this year with great joy and devotion to commemorate Hola Mohalla. This occasion is extremely sacred and joyous for the entire Sikh community and the countrymen.

On this auspicious occasion, a special Ardaas will be held at the Shri Akal Takht Sahib. Led by the Panj Pyare, the Nagar Kirtan will begin at 12:00 a.m. with Gurbani and Kirtan. The Nagar Kirtan will pass through various markets of the city, filled with the devotion and enthusiasm of Sikhs.

A Grand Langar

During the Nagar Kirtan, sacred Gurbani Kirtan, Shabad Kirtan, and Bhajan Satsang will be organized. All members of the community, including children, youth, and elders, will participate in the celebrations, praising the Guru’s glory. This day provides an opportunity to remind us of the teachings of Sikhism, service, unity, and social harmony.

The Golden Temple is decorated during the Hola Mohalla celebrations. A large langar (food distribution center) is organized. While colors are thrown around the world on Holi, the Golden Temple celebrates the festival of flowers. Devotees from all over the world will flock to the Golden Temple to witness it.
