Clash Erupts in Hyderabad After Truck Stopped Over Cow Smuggling Suspicion

Hyderabad: A clash broke out in Hyderabad after a truck carrying cattle was stopped by a group of people over suspicion of cow smuggling, prompting police intervention and a detailed investigation into the incident.

The incident reportedly took place near the Kothapet crossroads, where locals and members of a cow protection group intercepted the vehicle, suspecting illegal transportation of cattle. Videos of the confrontation later surfaced on social media, drawing attention across the city.

Police Personnel Injured During Stone Pelting

According to police, the situation turned tense when some members of the crowd allegedly assaulted the cattle transporters and later attacked police personnel who had reached the spot to control the situation. Stones were reportedly pelted at the police vehicle and officers, injuring several personnel, including an inspector.

Authorities stated that the cattle were being transported in a vehicle carrying multiple bulls. Preliminary findings suggested the animals were allegedly being taken for a film shoot, though the matter is still under investigation.

Several Arrested, Probe Continues

Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and launched an investigation into the incident. Several people have already been arrested in connection with the violence, while efforts are underway to identify others involved.

Officials said security has been tightened in the area to prevent any further law-and-order issues. Authorities are also verifying whether all required permissions and transport documents related to the cattle were in order.
