Indo-Pak Brotherhood on Display at Wagah-Attari Border as People Light Candles for Peace on Independence Day

Attari, Aug 15: A message of Indo-Pak friendship and mutual brotherhood was witnessed at the Wagah-Attari border on the occasion of Independence Day, where a special programme was organised expressing hope for peace, harmony and better relations between the two countries.

A large number of people gathered at the Attari border, carrying the Tricolour and messages of friendship between India and Pakistan. People exchanged Independence Day greetings as the border premises was filled with patriotic fervour and a spirit of brotherhood at midnight.

Candles Lit for Peace and Harmony

Participants lit candles and prayed for peace and harmony between the two countries. They said that while borders may divide India and Pakistan, people on both sides share the same human emotions, relationships and desire for peace.

Those attending the programme expressed hope that tensions between India and Pakistan would ease and relations between the two countries would improve.

‘People of Both Countries Have Much in Common’

Smriti Raj, who reached the border, said she hoped relations between India and Pakistan would improve again as people of both countries have much in common.

She said that India and Pakistan share several similarities in their cultures and traditions, and people on both sides appreciate many aspects of each other’s way of life.

Hope for Friendship and Brotherhood

Pragya, who came from Delhi for the occasion, said that people of Pakistan were also ready to stand with Indians in times of happiness and sorrow.

She expressed hope that friendship and brotherhood between India and Pakistan would always remain strong.

The annual gathering at the Wagah-Attari border sends a message of friendship and peace between the two countries. While displaying their patriotic spirit, visitors also emphasised that dialogue and mutual understanding could help pave the way for peace between India and Pakistan.
