Caracas: A flight carrying 192 Venezuelan migrants deported from the United States has landed at Simon Bolivar International Airport near Caracas, according to Venezuela’s Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace. The plane, operated by a US-registered airline, transported 156 men, 26 women, and 10 minors, who received medical, legal, and social support upon arrival.
Since February, Venezuela has received two to three deportation flights each week, including individuals relocated from Mexico and Honduras, as part of the government’s Plan Vuelta a la Patria, which has processed 5,475 migrants so far in 2025.
Venezuela also accused the US of conducting a campaign of “stigmatisation and criminalisation” against Venezuelans, criticizing new restrictions on visas that they claim are politically motivated. The Foreign Affairs Ministry condemned what it called a campaign promoted by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, asserting it reflects hostility toward the Venezuelan people.
Venezuelan officials reaffirm their commitment to protecting the rights of citizens abroad and issued a travel alert discouraging travel to or residence in the US, citing recent visa restrictions and political motives behind US policies. The US has also announced visa restrictions affecting several countries, including Venezuela.
