Muridke [Pakistan]: Amid India’s Operation Sindoor across terror targets in Pakistan, drone strikes were reportedly carried out in Muridke, Punjab. Locals told media that the attacks destroyed an administrative section of a mosque, including its roof.

A resident recounted the incident to Reuters, saying, “It was around 12:45 at night when we were sleeping. First a drone arrived, then three more followed. The attack destroyed the mosque’s office and roof. One officer sitting on the roof was killed.” Another local added, “Fear spread among the people, and many went into fields and open spaces, spending the night in terror.”

Muridke is known for hosting Markaz Taiba, the central training and radicalization hub of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The complex includes arms training, religious instruction, and operational preparations for terror activities both inside and outside Pakistan. Notably, the 26/11 Mumbai attackers, including Ajmal Kasab, received training there, with conspirators like David Coleman Headley and Tahawwur Rana also visiting Muridke on instructions from Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi.

Meanwhile, in New Delhi, during a briefing on Operation Sindoor, Col. Sofiya Qureshi shared footage showing the destruction of terror camps, including the Muridke site linked to the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Other targets in the operation included camps in Sialkot, Barnala, Kotli, and Joya, with India claiming to have struck nine terror locations in total—four within Pakistan and five in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri emphasized the need to bring the terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack to justice. He criticized Pakistan for failing to take action against terrorist infrastructure on its soil, accusing Islamabad of misleading the international community through denial and false allegations.

Col. Qureshi confirmed that Operation Sindoor targeted nine terror camps to serve justice to the victims of the Pahalgam attack, which resulted in 26 deaths on April 22. The operation was a coordinated effort involving the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi closely monitoring the strikes throughout the night. The targets included top leaders of JeM and LeT involved in sponsoring terror activities in India, with precise munitions used for minimal collateral damage.
